Submit Articles

As a member of Visumu, you can post an unlimited number of articles to our site. All articles are accepted and are subject to peer review for quality of grammer, but no articles will be removed from the site due to censorship unless they promote illegal activities or solicit commercial goods or services. Authors are encouraged to publish editorial articles on any and everything.

Post Comments

Discussion and community is a large part of Visumu. Part of our goal is to foster an online community by promoting interactivity and discussion about articles. Registered users can comment on any article on the site, either in support or in direct contrast to the opinions of the author.

Bookmark your Favorite Authors and Articles

Visumu has implemented a bookmarking system for quick navigation to pages of authors and articles that you have 'favorited'. This feature makes site navigation much simpler, and allows you to follow your favorite authors and find your favorite articles with ease.

Author Page

All registered users will have their own 'Profile Page' where visitors to the site can keep track of current activity from their favorite authors, and where authors can communicate with their readers. Authors can use this page to post comments, notify readers about upcoming news or articles and even suggest articles by other authors that they found particularly interesting.

Subscribe to Authors

Visumu makes it easy to be automatically notified via email or rss when your favorite authors post new articles, or when a new article is written on a specific topic. You can subscribe to authors through their author pages, and you can manage your subscription settings on your 'Personal Settings' page.

Karma

To promote involvement on the site, Visumu has developed a type of virtual currency for the site called 'Karma'. From the moment a user registers on the site, they will automatically start accumulating Karma. Every user will receive a daily ration of karma, which can be used for peer-review actions like rating articles and comments

Awards

Visumu has developed an 'acheivement awards' system designed to encourage users to become more active and involved with Visumu. There are over two dozen awards that are available in four varieties : Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The more awards an author receives, the more exposure their articles get and the more site privileges they are granted.

Tenure

There is a special award that registered users receive known as the 'Tenure Award'. This award is available in Bronze through Platinum award levels, and is essentially symbolic of your overall involvement in the site. The higher the level of the Tenure Award you have, the larger your daily allotment of karma, and the more exposure you and your posted articles receive. The Tenure Award is presented to users that accumulate a certain number of trophies, making this award perhaps the most telling award on the site.
